Google Introduces Stadia's "Streaming Game" Service

In the 2019 Game Developer Conference event held in San Francisco, United States, Google showed its seriousness to work on the video game industry in the world by introducing a cloud gaming service called Google Stadia.

Google Stadia is not a console. It is a service that allows players to play games in streaming. In other words, the player does not need to install game files on the device but simply stream like YouTube.

This service will later be integrated with YouTube so that players can immediately play the desired game after they watch the video footage.

According to Google, Stadia services are designed to target gamers who like to watch YouTube videos. Because Google found that game content on YouTube was watched for more than 50 billion hours during 2018.

"We want to shift people from those who are only interested in the game to playing games," said Phil Harrison, Vice President of Google Stadia.

"One way to do this is to unite the world of watching and playing games," Harrison continued.

No need for a device

Because Stadia is a cloud gaming service, players don't need any console device to play it. This service only requires a fast internet connection to play games.

Summarized by KompasTekno from Buzzfeed, Wednesday (03/20/2019), Google also said, this service will be able to display games in 4K resolution and 60 FPS frame rates. Requirements, the internet connection must have a minimum speed of 25 Mbps.

In addition, users don't need to download any file to play it.

Games that are run through Google Stadia services can be played through several different media such as PCs, tablets, or Chromecast. Uniquely, players can also move devices as desired, for example playing on a PC, then proceed on a tablet.

On the same occasion, Google also introduced a controller that can connect with Stadia services via WiFi. If seen at a glance, the controller is similar to similar devices in general.

However, the controller can connect directly to the Stadia data center so that players can directly use it, without having to make certain configurations on the device used for streaming.

The Controller for Stadia also has Google Assistant services so that players can get certain guidelines to complete each round in a game.

Google ensures that the Stadia streaming game service will be released in 2019. However, the exact date has not been confirmed.

The region that will first get Stadia is the United States, Canada, Britain and most of Europe. There are no signs that this service will be launched in the Asian region.
